Minister for Local Government Joe Szakacs issued a response and update on the proposal's progress, stating that he is yet to receive the request from the Council, and that he will "carefully review both the process undertaken by the Council" and "any correspondence [he] receive[s]".
This means there's still time to stop the land sale! Continue the pressure, call and email your representitives, and make your voice heard!

After a council meeting and vote the previous night, the council decided to completely ignore the demands of its people and approved the proposal anyway. They are actively choosing profit over people, the direct opposite thing the Malinauskas' Labor Government claims to stand for.
The proposal now moves up to the State Government for final approval; the final decision will be made by the Minister for Local Government Joe Szakacs, with no indication of the timeframe before he makes a decision.
We must tell our representatives to listen to what their people want, and to not allow this to pass.

The council released their Community Feedback Report, which showed a 95% disapproval rating from nearly 1,000 responses. Of the 132 people from the immediate surrounding area who responded, only 11 were in favour — 121 were against.
99 of the report's 117 pages are comments from the community submissions against the proposal.

The feedback submission window for the proposal closed, after being open for less than three weeks.
The council notified only 486 residence out of the over 41,000 in the Marion City Council district by mail, and posted once on social media about it.
